Directional drilling

Project Overview

The project

Riddco's crew drilled under Tumble Creek near Roslyn to install underground power conduit serving residences in the area. Section 10 Members Utility Association contracted the work as part of electrical infrastructure for the community.

Why directional drilling

Directional drilling was the only sensible approach for a creek crossing. Open-cut trenching through a waterway means temporary diversions, environmental permits, and bank restoration. Directional drilling let us route the conduit well beneath the creek bed with the surface, the banks, and the water left exactly as we found them.

Equipment deployed

  • Ditch Witch directional drill rig
  • Vacuum truck for spoil removal
  • Field crew for conduit placement and site safety
