About the service

Riddco's directional drilling services provide precision underground boring for telecom, fiber, and power infrastructure installations across Central Washington. As our primary service, we bring decades of experience and advanced equipment to every project, including rock drilling capability for the most challenging conditions.

Our directional drilling team handles everything from small-bore fiber installations to large-diameter utility crossings, minimizing surface disruption while delivering accurate, on-grade results.

What sets our directional drilling apart:

  • Rock drilling capability with specialized equipment
  • Telecom, fiber, and power installations
  • Minimal surface disruption
  • Precision boring for challenging conditions
  • Experienced operators with decades of field time

Common applications

  • Fiber optic and telecom conduit installation
  • Power distribution and substation service entries
  • Highway, road, and railroad crossings
  • River, creek, and sensitive area crossings where open-cut is impractical
  • Utility installations under existing paved surfaces
  • Rock conditions where traditional excavation is not feasible

How directional drilling works

Directional drilling begins with a pilot bore steered from entry to exit point using electronic tracking to hold line and grade. The bore is then reamed to the required diameter and the conduit or product pipe is pulled back through the path. The result is a clean, trenchless installation that preserves surface infrastructure and minimizes restoration work.

Equipment and specifications

  • Multiple directional drill rigs sized for small-bore fiber installs through large-diameter utility crossings
  • Specialized rock drilling equipment for hard-rock conditions across Central Washington
  • Electronic locator tracking for precise line and grade control
  • HDPE, PVC, and steel casing installations
  • Experienced operators with decades of field time in the region
