Location

Union Gap, Washington

Client

Pacific Power

Service

Directional drilling

Project Overview

The project

Riddco's crew installed updated power supply infrastructure for Pacific Power on S. 18th Street in Union Gap, Washington. The ground across the site was solid rock, which ruled out standard drilling methods.

Why directional drilling

Rock drilling is where directional drilling earns its keep. Open-cut trenching through solid rock takes a jackhammer, costs a fortune, and tears up the surface. Directional drilling cut straight through the rock with the pavement and the surroundings left intact.

Equipment deployed

  • Ditch Witch JT4020 All Terrain rock drill
  • Vacuum truck for spoil removal
  • Field crew for traffic control and conduit placement
